Taking a Taxi: ESL Listening Dialogue (A2)
A A2 English listening dialogue. A passenger takes a taxi to a hotel and asks about the fare. Use it for listening practice, role play or homework, and generate the audio in a US, UK or Australian accent.
Dialogue Script (2 speakers)
Driver: Hello, where to?
Passenger: The Park Hotel, please. On King Street.
Driver: No problem. Is this your first time in the city?
Passenger: Yes, it is. How long does it take?
Driver: Usually fifteen minutes, but there's a lot of traffic today.
Passenger: That's okay. I'm not in a hurry.
Driver: Here we are. The Park Hotel.
Passenger: Thank you. How much is it?
Driver: Eighteen dollars, please.
Passenger: Here's twenty. Keep the change. Can I have a receipt?
Driver: Sure, here you go.
